Project Overview

The MMH website was conceived in 2024 and launched in January 2025 as a personal project to document and showcase a childhood passion for Schleich animal figurines. In addition to tracking the collection, the site features a blog for articles and a guestbook for visitor feedback, creating an engaging platform for like-minded enthusiasts.

Challenge

As a personal nonprofit project, MMH needed a website that:

Approach & Strategy

Colour Palette: Soft pink tones (#590322, #8C3B59, #D9B8C7, #F1D5E1, #E3BFCC) create a warm, inviting aesthetic suitable for the subject matter
Typography: Bricolage Grotesque (Extra Bold) was used throughout for headings and accents, balancing playfulness with clarity
Platform & Structure: Built on WordPress.com for ease of content management, with a layout optimized for collection browsing, blog reading, and visitor interaction
Multilingual Accessibility: The MMH website is primarily in English, but is also available in Finnish and Swedish – visitors can switch languages seamlessly using a clear, intuitive selector, enhancing accessibility for a Nordic and international audience
Community Engagement: The site features a guestbook where visitors can leave comments in any of the supported languages

Solution

MMH combines personal storytelling and visual organization, providing a platform that is both functional and reflective of the creator’s personality. Thoughtful use of colour, typography, and layout ensures a consistent and cohesive experience for visitors.
